In the development of nuclear fusion, MAYEKAWA's Helium compressor packages were supplied to the Japanese Atomic Energy Agency for their JT-60 machine, to the National Institute for Fusion Science for their Large Helical Device (LHD) and as well as to other laboratories in Germany, India, and Korea.

The JT-60 machine is the world's largest superconductive nuclear fusion reactor, contributing to the realization of the high temperature world of one billion degree Celsius. MAYEKAWA's compressor and refrigeration technologies are widely used by the Central Japan Railway Company for their Maglev train project. They are also used in the research field of high-temperature superconductive transmissions.
